Villa Clara, Jul 6. - The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, toured the mountainous village of Jibacoa, in the Escambray, Friday to verify the work of repair of the roads in the area, affected by the Hurricane Irma last September, and the subtropical storm Alberto.
Diaz-Canel arrived in the province after having participated on Thursday in the 39 meeting Regular of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, as a special guest.
The President was accompanied on his journey by Villa Clara by the highest authorities of the party and the Government in the province, Julio Lima Corzo and Alberto López Díaz, as well as by Dunia Santana Álvarez and Noel Chinea Perez, first Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party in Manicaragua and President of the Government in that territory, respectively.
In dialogue with the main leaders of the province and construction executives, Diaz-Canel knew about works that run the construction company of engineering works (ECOING 25) brigades, aimed at repairing roads in Guayabal up and Down, and which lead up to Topes de Collantes, as well as the execution of works of factories that were damaged by the weather.
In their reflections, the Cuban President was particularly interested in the quality of investments, the raw material used, the equipment available, and the response of the builders, and called to achieve sustainability in order to maintain the vitality of these areas of high strategic importance for the country.
