Benedict XVI Concludes Visit to Cuba. The Cuban People Bid Farewell to Pope
The Vatican City’s Head of State, Benedict XVI will return Rome, Italy this afternoon, after fulfilling a busy agenda in Cuba since March 26th to 28th, a trip framed within the Jubilee Year honouring the 400th anniversary of the finding of the statue of Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre (Virgin of Charity of Cobre).
The Popemobile taking His Holiness to the Jose Marti International Airport, departed from the Apostolic Nunciature in Havana’s municipality of Playa, from where the neighbouring Cuban people warmly bid farewell to the Supreme Pontiff.
Benedict XVI will leave the country on board the Papal aircraft called Sestriere, a Boeing 777 from the Italian airline Alitalia, together with a 24-member Papal Entourage including bishops, cardinals and priests. (Radio Rebelde/Radio Cadena Agramonte).
