Ecuadorian Labor Union Congress Condemns US Blockade of Cuba
Havana, Cuba, Apr 3.- An agreement of the 24th National Ordinary Congress of the Confederation of Ecuadorian Workers (CTE) condemns the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for half a century now.
The labor union organization, created in 1944 and that brings together 14 Federations, expressed its solidarity with the Confederation of Cuban Workers (CTC) and the Cuban people, in recognition of the revolutionary work carried out for more than 53 years, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
Likewise, a resolution unanimously approved demands the immediate release of the five Cuban heroes condemned to harsh sentences in the United States for fighting terrorism. It also supports the process of updating of the economic model presently carried out on the Caribbean island with the active and decisive participation of workers.
A delegation of the CTC, headed by its second secretary, Angel Morffi, took part as guest in the meeting, in which the World Federation of Trade Unions was also represented. (ACN).
