Chavez will not Attend Summit of the Americas
Havana, Cuba, Apr 14.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will not participate in the Sixth Summit of the Americas, underway in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, announced Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro.
The Venezuelan diplomat said Chavez will be travelling instead to Cuba to continue his medical treatment.
He added that though Chavez won’t be physically present, he will follow the debates that the heads of state and government will start this afternoon.
Maduro ratified that the Latin American countries participating in the Summit defend the dignity of their peoples, as part of the new independence process the region is going through. (ACN).
