Cuban Ballet Crowns the History of Chinese Grand National Theater
Beijing, Apr 26.- The next presentation of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC) in our main hall will crown the history of the Grand National Theater of China, the director of the Programming Department of the host institution, Li Zhixiang, said here on Thursday.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Li said that the four presentations of the classic Swan Lake is a party, stating that there is great expectation for the debut of the Cuban group in that scenario, opened in December 2007.
Our theater has hosted the world's best companies, but the National Ballet of Cuba was left, and now we have it here, said the official, who illustrated the predicted success for four performances beginning Saturday with the phrase "now it is already very difficult to get a ticket".
The BNC will inaugurate the Festival of the Arts in Beijing, in which the company participated in 2002. In 2004 it was also in the capital.
Details of the tour through China, including the cities of Shanghai and Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, were explained at a press conference in that institution by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the first dancer Anette Delgado and artistic director Mercedes Vergara.
Delgado, Viengsay Valdes and Sadaise Arencibia are part of the group that will head the leading roles with Dani Hernandez, Yanier Gomez, Arian Molina, Osiel Gounod and Victor Estevez.
The Symphonic Orchestra of the National Ballet of China, led by the Cuban maestro Giovanni Duarte, will be in charge of the music. (Prensa Latina).
