Camagüey Choses Enumerators and Supervisors for National Population and Housing Census



Camagüey, Jun 15.- Camaguey province completed the selection of census takers and supervisors who will take part in the National Population and Housing Census, slated for September 15 to 24.

Basically, secondary and university students and teachers will collect the information, Remigio Martí Viamontes -provincial director of the National Statistics Office (ONE) in Camagüey- told press.

Representatives from all municipalities in Camagüey received census-related indications aiming at preparing the territory on July, to tackle the nationwide exercise.


Early in September, members of the National Committee will supervise the preparations of the National Population and Housing Census in Camagüey.

In comparison with the previous counting 10 years ago, the number of inhabitants in this province has decreased for many reasons, among them the low birth rate.

The main goal of this census is to collect updated figures on Cuba’s population and housing, so that social and economic programs can have a more consistent argumentation. (Adelante/Radio Cadena Agramonte).
