Hermanos Saíz Association Promotes Art among the Youth in Camagüey
Camaguey, June Fifteen - Strengthening bonds among institutions, systematizing and expanding the programming of the Casa del Joven Creador (a club where young intellectual find their space) and consolidating the work within the community in rural areas were the main topics on which the young avant-garde movement held talks in Camagüey with the national direction of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).
AHS Vice-President Jaime Gómez spoke about the changes that imply being a budgeted entity and also said that the AHS will continue favouring art projects and sponsoring awards.
He also called “to do art and see culture as a sacred imprint that human beings leave on the Earth, therefore people must safeguard their identity values that define us as Cubans”.
Those in attendance knew that the membership of this organization grew in this Cuban province and there are already 192 members, grouped in different sections such as visual arts, literature, performing art, music and others.
The Casa del Joven Creador in this province is a cultural centre where the free expression of the youngest artists is fostered, the many artistic expression media interact in this centre and it features spaces for music, an art gallery, a community video theatre and a café where AHS meet to discuss on literature.
