Camagüey Readies Wide Recreational Opportunities for Summer Time
Camagüey, Jun 29.- Camagüey is already gearing up to receive the summer months with a wide variety of sports, cultural and social activities in a bid to satisfy the many tastes of the people. The rest of the Cuban provinces are also engaged in these preparations.
Camagüey’s culture system has prepared over 12,000 activities to distinguish this year’s summer in the province, which will be mainly developed in rural areas and communities.
The summer season is to kick off on July 6th throughout the island nation with the usual Book Night program from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The main venue of this literary event will be República Street, located in the administrative center of the province.
During this summer, both entertainment and instruction will be provided with the recently-inaugurated Cattle Fair, Camilo Cienfuegos Amusement Park, cultural events featuring book presentations, literary debates and book readings, summer courses, beaches and swimming pools, concerts by Tony Ávila, Waldo Mendoza, and some other artists.
The motto “Verano por más” will identify 2012's summer time, which will be dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Young Communist League (UJC) and the 91st of the Federation of University Students (FEU). (Yurislenia Pardo Ortega/ Radio Cadena Agramonte).
