Obama Continues to Enforce George W. Bush’s Anti-Cuba Plans

Havana, July 7.- U.S. President Barack Obama continues to enforce George W. Bush’s plans aimed at destabilizing Cuba’s political system, said Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon in Havana.

During a ceremony that officially set up the National Electoral Commission for next October's general elections in Cuba, Ricardo Alarcon said that Barack Obama has continued to systematically apply the same plans of his predecessor, which aim to take away the sovereignty of the Cuban people.

Alarcon said that the most recent proof of Washington’s hostile policy is the allocation of huge funds to undermine Cuban society, as the U.S. Congress decided to add another 20 million dollars, a figure to be used before September 30th when the fiscal year runs out.

The Cuban National Electoral Commission will first organize municipal elections for October 21st, while the date to elect delegates to provincial assemblies and deputies to the National Assembly or Parliament is still to be announced. (Taken from Radio Habana Cuba).
