Angolan President Opens Railroad



Luanda, Aug 18.- The Angolan president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, made an opening trip in a train traveling by the Caminos de Hierro de Benguela railroad (CFB), which were rebuilt during the current peace time.

Dos Santos, who traveled 5 km of the Kuito-Luena stretch, also inaugurated the CFB main station in the city of Luena, province of Moxico (south), Radio Nacional de Angola reported today .

This facilitiy, which provided jobs for hundreds of Angolan youth, was built and modernized in only six months.

During a mass ceremony in Moxico, dos Santos stated the passage of this train through this region will contribute to national economy's development and peace consolidation.

The Minister of Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomas, who also attend the event, said this train will cover about 32 km from the city of Lobito, in the Atlantic, to Luena. (Prensa Latina)
