Obama Urges to Pass Immigration Reform in U.S.

Washington, Jan 29.- US President Barack Obama welcomed today the initiative of reaching a comprehensive immigration reform above political differences, following the macro agreement reached by a bipartisan group on Monday.

During his speech at Las Vegas, Nevada, the US president reiterated that reaching that reform is an emergency, because the system is damage and it needs measures to improve it.

"We need Congress to act on a comprehensive approach that finally deals with the 11 million undocumented immigrants," said Obama.

According to CNN television channel live footages, Obama said that legislators are actively working for a solution.

The agreement of both parties is aimed at seeking a way to give the U.S. citizenship to the undocumented (mostly Latinos), as well as to reinforce border security with Mexico, among other aspects. (Prensa Latina)
