A Delegation from the University of Tampa Visits the City of Camagüey
Camagüey, Jan 14. - With the aim of tightening ties of friendship between the peoples of Cuba and the United States, and in spite of the political tensions that the US Government imposes to their bilateral relations, a new group of Americans visited the city of Camagüey.
The 18-members delegation visiting this Cuban city comes from the University of Tampa, in the state of Florida; and three of them are teachers.
During their stay in this city which lasted only two days, the visitors shared impressions with residents of Sanchez Soto neighbourhood and were updated about diverse issues regarding the provincial and national context.
This is the second US delegation that in less than 15 days holds face-to-face talks with residents of the city of Camagüey. Both groups have shown interest on education, public health as well as on the economic transformations underway in the island nation.
Last week, a group of active and retired teachers as well as students of Las Positas College, California, visited Camagüey, a city which will be celebrating its 500th anniversary next month. (Juan Mendoza Medina/Radio Cadena Agramonte).
