President Raul Castro Heads Cuban May Day
Havana, May 1.- Cuban President Raul Castro presided over the main celebration and march on International Labor Day in Havana''s Revolution Square. The main address by Salvador Valdes, general secretary of the Central Workers Union of Cuba (CTC), was followed by the march of thousands of people in the colors of the national flag in support of the achievements of the Cuban Revolution of January 1, 1959.
A block of education workers, genuine representatives of Cuba's social work, led the march with a banner that read United, Productive and Efficient.
Near 2,000 members of workers and social groups and movements of solidarity with Cuba from 80 countries also participate in the feast, among them, George Mavrikos, general secretary of the World Union Federation. (Prensa Latina)
