Havana, Jun 17.- Cuban President Raúl Castro welcomed Tuesday Kundy Pahiama, minister of defense of the Republic of Angola, who is currently visiting the island.

Raúl asked the distinguished guest to transmit greetings to President José Eduardo dos Santos and all the people of Angola, united with the Cuban people by a sound friendship forged in the battle to preserve the independence of that fraternal African nation.

Kundy Pahiama expressed his delight at being back in Cuba and being able to talk with its leaders and many other comrades here.

Also present at the encounter were Generals of the Army Corps Julio Casas Reguiero and Leopoldo Cinto Frías, minister and first deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, respectively. (Translated by Granma International)
