Hugo Chavez Greets National Rebellion Day in Cuba
Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Jul 26.- Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez sent a greeting message to the Cuban people in the 58 anniversary of the assault on Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes quarters.
Chávez recalled that July 26, 1953 is now living history, which challenges us to follow the example of dignity of the fallen, he said.
Moncada was and is the greatest enigma resolved. Fidel and Raul Castro, you made an assault on the future and after 58 years we can say that Jose Marti’s aspiration has become a reality and has become a paradigmatic deed, said the president.
He also stressed Cubans’ committed attitude in the years preceding the triumph of the revolution and recalled the words of Cuban leader Fidel Castro when he said that Moncada taught to turn setbacks into victories. (Prensa Latina).
