Ecuador Will Not Recognize Libyan Transition Govt.
Quito, Aug 27.- Ecuador will not recognize a transition junta in Libya until the Libyan people declare it legitimate, Deputy Foreign Minister Kintto Lucas told Andes News Agency.
Lucas said they will follow the developments to see which trend the people of Libya follows. We can not recognize a government that is not real yet.
The civil war now tearing the country apart has prevented the self-declared transition government from taking office in Tripoli, limiting their bastion to Bengazhi and even if it ever assumes office the civil war would strand it in its current temporary status for a long time.
Lucas stressed that the government of Ecuador does not accept foreign interference nor the violation of human rights. (Prensa Latina).
