French Professor: World Demands End of US Blockade on Cuba

Paris, Oct 29.- The condemnation of the US blockade on Cuba at the United Nations is a call by the international community to put an end to the state of siege against the Caribbean nation, said university professor Salim Lamrani in this capital on Saturday.

For the twentieth occasion and with the vote of 186 nations, the UN General Assembly passed a new resolution against the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade of Cuba this week.

They are anachronistic, cruel, and ineffective measures because the White House has not achieved its goal to destroying the Cuban Revolution, Lamrani told Prensa Latina.

The author of the book "State of Seige: the US economic sanctions against Cuba," recently published here, considers that the US blockade is the main obstacle to the development of the Caribbean country.

Cuba is a small island which depends on sea transport and it cannot trade with a market that is located just 90 miles away, noted the French professor. (Prensa Latina).
