Camagüey: Thousands of People Move to Seaside Resorts during Summer Vacation
Camagüey, Aug 25.- The coming into service of buses and of a train are some of the actions implemented by the local Transportation Company to guarantee an appropriate flow of passengers to Santa Lucia beach, in eastern Cuba.
For the pursuit of such a goal, 15 school buses with a capacity for 30 passengers each travel from town to Santa Lucia beach, northern Camaguey every weekend; similar to what happen in the rest of the municipalities.
Those who live in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas are also receiving same benefits, with the dispatch of 12 buses daily, heading to Puerto Piloto beach.
From Thursday to Sunday, two buses depart from Camagüey city to Limones Tuabaquey ecological reserve.
On the other hand, the so-called Tren Playero (beach train) keeps its itinerary, a service that is backed up by buses in the municipality of Nuevitas.
Over the last weeks more than 23 thousand people have been transported to the beaches located in northern Camaguey, using state-run means of transport, while other 73 thousand have been benefited by the Cuban Central Union vacation program.
