Cuban Dance Company Performs Successful in S. Africa
Johannesburg, Feb 21.- The Litz Alfonso Dance Company was highly acclaimed at the State Theater in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa.
The single performance, under the title "Celebrando el Espiritu de la Libertad" (Celebrating the Spirit of Freedom), is part of the company's shows in this African country, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC), which is being held in 2012.
According to a note from the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, before the performance, South African figures highlighted Cuba's cooperation in Africa, in sectors such as health, education, construction, fighting malaria, among other spheres.
They also emphasized the Cuban contribution to ending the shameful apartheid system and the cultural ties that join Cuba with this continent, particularly South Africa.
The dance company performed in Cape Town on February 10-12. The tour also includes other places, organizers said. (Prensa Latina).
