Ukrainian President meets with Cuban Vice President Murillo

Kiev, Feb 29.- The President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, has invited his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro to visit Ukraine, during a meeting in Kiev with the vice president of Cuban Council of Ministers, Marino Murillo.

altDuring the meeting, Yanukovych recalled his latest visit to the Caribbean island in October 2011 and expressed his hopes for President Raul Castro to "visit Ukraine this year."

The Ukrainian president said that a prospect visit by Raul Castro would help take bilateral diplomatic and cooperation ties to a new level.

During his 2011 visit to Havana,Yanukovych signed important economic and trade agreements with the Caribbean island, which are expected to increase further the current volume of bilateral trade of USD 39 million, which Yanukovych said does not correspond to "the real possibilities."(Taken from Radio Habana Cuba)
