Campaign “5 Days for the 5 Cubans,” in Washington DC
Havana, Cuba, Mar 3.-The International Committee for the Freedom of The Five called upon solidarity organizations and friends in the United States and the rest of the world to support the campaign “5 Days for the 5 Cubans.”
A communique issued in Oakland, California, where the organization is based, specifies that the activities of denunciation and solidarity will take place from April 17th through the 21st in Washington DC, the www.antiterroristas.cu Web site reported on Friday.
A public meeting with the participation of personalities of the host country and other nations; the handing over of information to members of the US Senate and Congress; and documentary screenings at universities and other centers will be held as part of the campaign.
Also scheduled is a meeting with the press, and another one with religious groups of various denominations, as well as informative round tables and cultural activities.
Parallel to these activities –adds the call- thousands of posters with the phrase “Obama Give me Five” will be placed in several key points of Washington, and announcements will be published on some of that city’s media.
The text includes instructions about ways to participate and support the actions of “5 Days for the 5 Cubans,” aimed at spreading the case of these patriots arrested in Miami in 1998, and condemned in 2001 in a biased and politicized trial.(ACN)
