Gala in Honor of Cuba’s Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso This Week in Madrid



Havana, Cuba, Mar 12.- A gala in honor of Cuba’s prima ballerina assoluta and director of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC) Alicia Alonso will take place at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela on Wednesday, March 14th, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Alicia Alonso Dance Chair.


According to the website www.cubarte.cult.cu, the gala will feature talented dancers from the BNC such as Anette Delgado, Sadaise Arencibia, Dani Hernandez, and Arian Molina.

Also performing at the coliseum in the Spanish capital will be soloists and the corps de ballet of the Chamber Ballet of Madrid.

This gala will be the end of celebrations for the two decades of existence of the Alicia Alonso Dance Institute, with which the teaching of ballet at the university level began in Spain.

This institution has also contributed to the training of various generations of Spanish dancers and also from other European nations. (ACN).
