New Customs Rules for Oil Exploitation to Govern in Cuba
Havana, Cuba, Mar 13.- New customs regulations applicable to those involved in the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Cuba's Exclusive Economic Zone in the Gulf of Mexico will take effect from March 15.
The resolution was issued by the Chief of the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba, Pedro Miguel Perez Betancourt, and published in the Official Gazette on March 5.
The previous regulations relating to goods clearance, Customs warehousing and service fees, did not meet the agility and speed requirements demanded by the exploration and exploitation of oil at sea, said the text.
Hence the need for specific rules that allow establishing control and customs treatment applicable to the entry, storage, transit and departure of goods, passengers and their luggage in Cuba, and international transportation related to these processes. (Prensa Latina).
