Large Participation Expected for Havana’s 2012 Int’l Trade Fair
Havana, Cuba, Mar 15.- Cuba expects a large foreign and national participation in the annual International Trade Fair of Havana (FIHAV) scheduled this year for November 4-10.
The 2011 event, held in November, was attended by 1,500 companies and over 3,500 businesspeople from 60 countries, including Cuba.
On that occasion, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, predicted a larger participation in the 2012 fair as recently did the president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Estrella Madrigal.
Madrigal said that FIHAV 2012, regarded as the biggest event of its kind in the Caribbean, would be an excellent opportunity to begin the celebrations for the Chamber’s 50th anniversary.
“After three decades since it was first held in 1982, the International Trade Fair grows along with the economy of the country and the diversification of foreign trade as it becomes the biggest trade event held in the archipelago,” the Organizing Committee noted.
Last year’s meeting was also attended by dozens of official and business delegations, as well as representatives from 46 chambers of commerce from 22 countries.
As it has become a tradition, Havana’s EXPOCUBA exhibition hall will host the annual fair.(ACN)
