Georgetown, Nov 10.- The Second Additional Protocol of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Cuba was signed today, diplomatic sources say.
Havana, Nov 10.- The National Council of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) held its Sixth meeting, November 9, in the Theater of Havana’s National Fine Arts Museum. The encounter was attended by PCC Political Bureau member Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers; Abel Prieto Jiménez, minister of Culture; Ena Elsa Velázquez, minister of Education (Mined); and UNEAC President, Miguel Barnet, among others.
Washington, Nov 8.- The US government announced today greater restrictions for Americans interested in doing business with Cuba and traveling to the Caribbean island, in compliance with the presidential memorandum that reverses important aspects of the rapprochement between the two countries.
Paris, Nov 8.- Cuba was elected to join the UNESCO Executive Board for the period 2017-2021, in the elections held today at the 39th General Conference of that United Nations organization.
Camagüey, Nov 6.- To maintain their comprehensive results and the legacy of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who inspired the formation of the new generations, the Minister of Higher Education, José Ramón Saborido Loidi, urged the students and professors of the University of Camagüey, Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, in the central act by the 50 anniversary of that institution.
Paris, Nov 6.- Scientists Shahida Hasnain (Pakistan) and Samir Saha (Bangladesh) will receive today the UNESCO Carlos J. Finlay prize for microbiology today, an award established by initiative of the Cuban government.
Havana, Nov 6.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and African Integration and Nigerians Abroad of the Republic of Niger, Ibrahim Yacoubou, arrived in Cuba on an official visit, the Foreign Ministry announced today.
Paris, Nov 3.- Cuba has reaffirmed today in this capital the importance and relevance of UNESCO's work in the current world, as well as its contribution to promote sustainable development.
Washington, Nov 3.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla talked to a dozen of US senators and representatives of the Congress, about the current state of the bilateral relations between Cuba and the US, and the significant setback they have now experienced.
United Nations, Nov 1. – Once again, for the 26th time before the United Nations, heard was Cuba's demand for the elimination of the U.S. economic, commercial, financial blockade, supported by 191 of the world's nations.
