    World Peace Day Cuba Celebrated in Cuba

    Havana, Sep 22.- Cuba celebrated World Peace Monday with a call to struggle against war and occupation, and for peace and friendship between the peoples.

    The World Peace Council sent a message to the millions of soldiers in dozens of countries who are part of peace keeping mission and who are fighting for justice and sovereignty. The statement was read during a meeting held at Havana’s Friendship Center.

    The document points out that World Peace Day, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1981, would only be just another day if people close their eyes to the reality of more brutality and bloodshed in today’s world.

    The President of the Cuban Movement for the Peace and Sovereignty of the Peoples, Jose Ramon Rodriguez, highlighted that the struggle for that noble ideal has to be indissolubly linked to development, cooperation, and friendship between the peoples and countries.
