Havana, Cuba, March 21.- Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Kerti reiterated Wednesday in Jartum his country’s unbending support of Cuba’s
fight against Washington’s economic, financial and commercial siege of the island.
Kerti reaffirmed Sudan’s stand in a conversation with Cuban non-resident ambassador to his country, Otto Vaillant Frias, with whom he recently met.
The Minister told the Egypt-based Cuban diplomat about his country’s interest in strengthening bonds with Cuba, particularly in areas of common
interest, such as education, scientific research and sports, Prensa Latina reported.
He took the opportunity to thank the Cuban Revolution for rejecting the economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. on Sudan since 1997, and which were recently extended for another year.
Kerti said Cuba was a very supportive country and that it has earned the love and respect of many nations. He noted that for such reason, its
resolution against the U.S. blockade receives an overwhelming support when submitted to vote every year at the UN.(ACN)
