Santo Domingo, Apr 30.- Six earthquakes in different parts of the country were reported today the Seismological Institute of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, with no reported damage or casualties.
The earthquakes occurred between 03.00 and 08:56 AM, with an intensity ranging between 3.3 and 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale.
The first quake occurred southwest of La Romana with a magnitude of 3.8 degrees, followed by another at 06.00 with 3.3 degrees at the northeast of Samana, with its epicenter in the Atlantic Ocean, according to analyst Juan Arias.
The third quake struck at 07:59 with an intensity of 3.3 degrees in the Mona Passage, near Saona Island. Eleven minutes later there was another near Saona Island with a magnitude of 3.3 degree.

The fifth quake occurred at 08:27 in east of community of Yerba Buena in the province of Hato Mayor, with an intensity of 3.3 degrees.
The sixth and final earthquake was at 08:56 with a magnitude of 3.6 degrees and with epicenter at a distance of six kilometers from Corcobas, Nagua.
This is most intense seismic activity recorded in less than 24 hours in April, preliminary reports from the Seismological Institute indicate. (Prensa Latina).
