Havana, Cuba, Apr 30.- Canada's Ernesto Che Guevara solidarity brigade arrived today in Holguin, east Cuba, to participate in the International Workers' Day in coordination with Canada's Network of Solidarity with Cuba.
On their arrival, the visitors paid tribute to the General of three Wars for Cuba's independence, Calixto Garcia Inigues at the statue and park with his name.
During their stay through May 17th, this group of young students, professors, social workers, retirees, artists and Lawyers, will do voluntary work in housing projects for the victims of hurricane Ike, reports Radio Angulo.
The organization joins the world campaign Free the Five for the safe return of Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez, the Five Cuban antiterrorists withheld in the USA for more than 13 years under unjust prison terms and slant court verdicts extending to life.
The Cuban Five were condemned for warning against anti-Cuba terrorist groups operating in and from Florida, south of the US, and whose absolute impunity is blamed for more than 5,000 deaths and severe wounds resulting in disabilities.
Ernesto Che Guevara Contingent was founded in 1993 when Cuba was going through additional hardships worsened by the Socialist Block collapse. (Prensa Latina).
