Camagüey, Mar 20.- “Sedimentos” is the title of the exposition by Camaguey-born artist Agustín Bejarano, that will be exhibited at 10th Havana’s Biennial March 27-30.
The event will be the setting for confronting and thinking about the importance of plastic arts in the international milieu.
The display, part of the biennial welcoming cocktail, will be taking place on March 30 at Santa Clara Convent, in Old Havana.
Since 1991, Agustín Bejarano has presented some 20 collections, among them: Fronteras Humanas, Los Ritos del Silencio, Imágenes en el Tiempo, Cabezas Mágicas and Sedimentos.
According to art critic, Rufo Caballero: “Bejarano’s style of synthesis and sobriety does not match the stereotypes descibing the Caribbean as nothing but colourful parties, Spanish hand fans and hammocks. On the contrary, his work shows the essence of an identity known for the suffering and the restrained euphoria”. (Lázaro David Najarro Pujol/ Translation: Gualveris Rosales S./Radio Cadena Agramonte)
