Camagüey, Jul 17.- Redescovering the historical events that distinguish the city of Camagüey - not only regarding the stories hoarded in books, but told in the voice of its own leading actors - and approaching flagship sites of local history are some of the options to enjoy this summer.
Bárbara Oliva García, one of the experts at the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum, explained that in its halls people can find unique species not only of the Cuban fauna but also of the different zoogeographic regions around the globe, as well as an important collection of visual arts.
Among the options proposed for the smallest family members this summer there are workshops on heritage conservation, either tangible or intangible.
Three years ago, they started the cultural route “Descubriendo nuestro patrimonio” (Discovering our heritage), which is still being held and allows to know about the architectural values of the buildings in this city close to reach the 500th anniversary of its foundation and of relevant personalities that are till alive in the memory of all its citizens.
The tour departing from the Joaquín de Agüero House of Culture turns out to be an interesting proposal for both adults and children; history stands as the main attraction this summer.
With permanent exhibits, the Ignacio Agramonte Provincial Museum will be open to the public these months from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon Tuesday through Saturday, and on Sunday the museum works only in the morning. (Daymaris Taboada Moreno/Radio Cadena Agramonte).
