Caracas, Feb 14.- Venezuela is focusing its development and economic recovery on strengthening relations with China, a step described by President Nicolás Maduro as vital and fundamental.
The progress made by the China-Venezuela High-Level Joint Commission strengthens the Development Plan for the period 2015-2025, launched by both nations, Maduro said last night to close the meeting of delegations of both countries.
After the delegations signed 22 new agreements, the President pointed out that his country develops along with China 790 productive projects destined to boost the national economy, of which more than 400 are in execution.
In this strategic partnership between China and the Venezuelan Bolivarian Government, in addition to the agreements in the petroleum area in which the development of the Jienyang refinery in China stands out, other spheres also have great weight.
The signing of two agreements for the direct investment and the installation of the new heavy machinery production line, the construction of public works, and cargo transport, to improve the production of the Great Mission Sovereign Supply are also included.
The exchange also includes boosting the production of vehicles, computers, and cell phones, among others.
According to the Chinese Vice-President of the Commission, Ning Jizhe, both countries share the same productive tasks for the benefit of our peoples, in particular, cooperation in oil, mining, energy, among others.
After describing the Asian nation as “a great power of the 21st century”, Maduro instructed the Executive Cabinet to incorporate all Chinese industries in the country into the 15 engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, a mechanism promoted by the national leader to reinvigorate the productive apparatus.
The 15 engines, he stressed, are open to investment, technology and work with the People's Republic of China.(PL)
