Havana, July 27.- The Cuban Music Institute (ICM), the Ministry of Culture and several record companies in the country are organizing the Second International Music Forum Primera Linea, which will bring together some 150 foreign delegates.
The event will also be attended by more than 400 Cuban specialists from September 20-23 at the Alejo Carpentier hall of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, in which an academic forum and a trade fair will be held to exhibit music products and projects by the companies attending.
The event is part of WOMEX (The World Music Expo), with the support of the German company Endirecto and the Cuban record companies Egrem, Bis Music, Abdala and Colibri.
According to the Cuban newspaper Granma, the forum seeks to promote Cuban music to show its potential and relate those who work in the world music market to possible working connections with the institutions in Cuba, through the prevailing contracts for the artists.
The 2nd forum will be dedicated to music professionals and will include concerts, the so-called showcases, but they will only be organized following the decision taken by a national and international jury that will select 15 artistic groups after touring all the music companies in the country.
