Havana, Cuba, Aug 8.- Cuba suffered its second loss in the FIBA Women’s Americup 2017 tournament taking place in Argentina until August 13th.
According to the website of the event, in an unprecedented outcome, Paraguay beat Cuba 69-66 in match for Group B of this contest.
Paraguay´s Paola Ferrari was the MVP of the match when scoring 27 points, while Cubans Ineidis Casanova and Leydis Oquendo scored 14 units each for the losing side.
This is Cuba´s second loss in the tournament as they were previously beaten 81-35 by Canada in their debut.
The aforementioned three squads appear in Group B along with Puerto Rico and Mexico, while Brazil, Argentina, US Virgin Islands, Venezuela and Colombia appear in Poole A.
Best two teams of each group advance to semifinals of this championship which grants three tickets to next year´s World Cup to be held in Spain. (ACN)
