Camagüey´s Boxers ratify their world class



Camagüey, Sep 4.- Camagüey´s Boxing was ratified as the main power of the discipline in our country, to provide you with two gold medals to the Cuban squad that won the title for countries in recent World Championship, held in Hamburg, Germany.

The two boxers from Camagüey who attended the German event - the Light Heavyweight Julio Cesar La Cruz and the light flyweight Johanys Argilagos- repeated their crowns of two years ago, in Doha, Qatar.

For La Cruz was his fourth title in such exercises, a result that allowed him to tie with the Pinar del Rio´s Juan Hernández Sierra as the second most laureates with crowns of the world, surpassed only by the Guantánamo´s  Félix Savón, who won six world.

For his part, Johanys Argilagos, with 20 years of age, already accumulates two gold medals in Boxing Tournaments planetary, record book to sum the bronze of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the past year.

Cuba won the World Boxing Championship of Hamburg with five gold medals and two silver medals. In addition to the aforementioned Camagüey´s boxers, were crowned the fly Yosvani Veitía, the light welterweight champion Andy Cruz and the Erislandi cruise Savon, while the runners-up were to Lázaro Álvarez (60 kg) and Roniel Iglesias (69 kg).
