Camagüey, Oct 27.- "I know that Camagüey was one of the most affected provinces, but I am also aware of how hard citizens has worked and continues to work here." Thus expressed Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Cuban parliament), during an exchange with members of the Provincial Council of Defense and their counterparts of such structures in the 13 municipalities in the Camagüey´s territory.
The also member of the Political Bureau stressed that "there is a lot of work to do, with efficiency, control, discipline and demand"; and he added that the Camagüey´s inhabitans during the current phase of recovery have done so and they must continue to do so, since "this is the way to build the sustainable and prosperous socialism that we have proposed".
Lazo Hernandez received details of the recovery tasks undertaken in the province after the passage of hurricane Irma, the advances and the subjective weaknesses that still stand in the way of achieving higher goals in less time, mainly in the construction of housing.
By the way, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, president of the Council of Defense in Camagüey, explained that does everything to increase the production of construction materials in each of the Camagüey´s localities, especially in the areas most affected, and solutions that demonstrate the potentials that exist.
In relation to the upcoming elections for delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power, the president of the Cuban parliament said that "we must work on the basis that the results are a worthy tribute to the memory and the work of comrade Fidel on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance.
"We must devote ourselves to each task in defense of the Revolution because we are representatives of the people and respond to every moment"; concluded Esteban Lazo.
