Havana, Oct 30.- First Vice President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received the Honorable Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India, this Monday, October 30, who traveled to the island leading a large delegation of businesspeople participating in the 35th edition of the Havana International Trade Fair.
Díaz-Canel thanked Minister Prabhu for the donations of medicines, tractors and agricultural equipment made by the Indian government, which will contribute to the recovery of damages caused by Hurricane Irma, and ratify the solidarity and fraternity of the Indian government and people with the Cuban people.
The existing potential to expand and deepen bilateral economic, commercial and financial relations, based on the historical ties between both nations, moves which will contribute to the implementation of strategic projects for Cuba’s economic development, were addressed during the meeting.
Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, participated on the Cuban side, while Indian Ambassador to Cuba, Tsewang Namgyal, and other members of the official delegation accompanied Minister Prabhu.
The Indian Minister’s agenda in the country also includes meetings with Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a vice president of the Council of Ministers, and other Cuban leaders. (Granma)
