Havana, Jan 19.- The presentations ''Projections of jazz in the Cuban musical discography'' and ''Peruchín: the genius of DNA'' are outlined as attractive themes of the program that today proposes the colloquium of the 33rd International Jazz Plaza 2018 Festival.
In the meeting, held at the Cuban Factory of Arts, in this capital will be developed a panel dedicated to the life and work of local composer and pedagogue Roberto Valera, an artist whose work has an important presence in the music of the island.
On the other hand, the session 'De la idea a la praxis' will present the North American trombonist Jimmy Bosch, who will give a master class on the techniques of improvisation of that instrument in Cuban music.
The space also proposes 'Ska, Jamaican jazz', master class that will feature the participation of Cuban instrumentalists and students of the Jamaica School of Music.
Tomorrow concludes the colloquium that bears the name of the renowned Cuban researcher, writer, journalist, essayist and musicologist Leonardo Acosta. (Prensa Latina)
