Havana, Feb 15.- The Ibero-American Federation of Physics Societies will from today a two-day meeting at the University of Havana (UH), with the participation of national and foreign personalities.
In the Aula Magna will be the inauguration of the meeting, which provided for the planning of schools, workshops, events and exchanges between scientists and educators from participating countries, according to the agenda of the institution.
Discussions on the subject will also be on the occasion of the 40 anniversary of Cuban Society of Physics, founded on 31 October 1978, a non-governmental organization which brings together specialists and other professionals working in related careers in teaching or research, according to sources of the UH.
One of its objectives is the establishment of linkages with other national and foreign scientific societies, as well as to foster the exchange of information and experiences, as well as collaborating with the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and Central State Administration Bodies.
The Ibero-American Federation of Physics Societies emerged in Havana in 1996, as a result of an agreement signed with the Portuguese Society of Physics and the Spanish Royal Society of Physics.
Its last meeting took place in Madrid in December 2003, when it was decided that the publication of the White Paper and edit a journal of the discipline. (Text and Image: ACN)
