Camagüey´s students receive preparation for Admission to Higher Education



Camagüey, Feb 27. - More than two thousand 460, 12th grade students in the province of Camagüey are immersed in an intensive preparation for successful exit in entrance examinations to universities, in which this territory exceeded its previous course.

To achieve the desired levels in these tests in the period 2016- 2017 school year, the Provincial Department of Education Precollege trace and compliance strategies with traditional and novel procedures for encouraging the development approved in the three subjects to evaluate.

The actions will include the location in the calendar of classes in shifts of consultation, systematization of knowledge, attention to students with more difficulties, the increase in the hours of individual study and a greater use of computer resources and audiovisual media.

Yulia Padrón, head of the department, told the ACN on the importance of the consolidation of knowledge for entrance examinations to higher education, in the subjects of Cuban History, Math and English, which is transmitted by the education channel of Cuban Television.

With one hour of duration, that audiovisual product until the next April 26, will be accessible to students, even after that date, because it will be recorded with the purpose to continue exercising the skills acquired by students, accurate voter list.

For Islenys Cruz Alvarez, 12th grade student, Urban University Institute (IPU) Alvaro Morell, of this city, the classes on the television are very good, because they motivate, teach, and generate a lot of interest in her and her classmates.

She added that they also attend a house of study where do the tasks, independent work, review what is taught in school and on Saturday train with proof of income from previous years.

The student assessed, in addition, the importance of the expansion of the hours dedicated to the preparation in the school with teachers, to clarify any doubts through dialog with the teachers.

According to María Josefa Orta Fernández, professor of Spanish and Literature of the IPU with more than 45 years of work and reintegrated to the education system, this process is unique for the extension of the time to consolidate the content and attention to individual differences with students who have difficulties in learning.
