For the heroes of today

Rolando Sarmiento Ricart/ collaborator of Radio Cadena Agramonte.

At a distance of only two Sundays is the second stage of the coming general elections on March 11. By whom or who vote: by all, for several, for one, these are the questions of many voters in these national elections do not know personally many candidates who are not of the neighborhood, municipality, or even of their province.

I have before me three new Heroes of the Work of the Republic of Cuba, to three mambises of these times, as defined by the Army General Raúl Castro Ruz to their colleagues, José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and to the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and Guillermo García Frías… and not all Cubans have had the privilege to meet them in person, however, they know of their merits, patriotic firmness and loyalty to Fidel.

Cuba is a country of heroes mambises and revolutionaries of today. How many of them are quietly among the thousand 265 candidates to delegates of the provincial assemblies of People's Power and the 605 to the Cuban Parliament that will appear on the white and green ballots... and are well in these times, because the 89.25 % was born after the triumph of January 1959.

Almost half of those proposed for parliamentarians are the "heroes" of the neighborhood and communities, district delegates, unequivocal proof of the original electoral participatory democracy of this island, which subjected again to the polls after being elected in the primary election last November; and the remaining nominees also virtues and professional results sufficient to run for any region of the country.

Eighty of the 605 candidates for deputy of 18 to 35 years of age and all stand out as educators, scientists, athletes, artists, workers, peasants, workers of the non-state sector, students. In total, according to data from the National Electoral Commission, to be elected on March 11, 338 new members will renew the Cuban Parliament in its 9th Legislature.

Most of the candidates to delegates and Cuban parliamentarians, representatives of all segments of the population and of the economy, has medium higher and higher education level, and for those within and outside the question the Cuban electoral project, more than half of the seats in the National Assembly are women workers, farmers and housewives.

Camagüey´s voters to elect 77 delegates to the Provincial Assembly and 44 members of the European Parliament, but wherever they are, that day will vote for the anonymous heroes that will guide to Cuba, along with its people - in the new fighting social and economic Power.

Five years ago, at voting station #1 of The Capital Plaza of the Revolution, Fidel vote physically for the last time. The next March 11, his historic presence will accompany by Cuba as a whole, in order to maintain the unity for all and for the good of all that outlined Martí front into the bowels of the empire that today despises us and threat equal to or more than I did then.
