World Social Forum requires lifting of the blockade to Cuba

Havana, March 15.- The social and trade union movements present at the 13th World Social Forum in Brazil, they demanded the cessation of economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than five decades.

The event, which is held until the next day 17 in the city of Salvador de Bahia, was conducive to request the return to Cuba of the territory illegally occupied by the United States naval base at Guantánamo.

Representatives of these organizations agreed that the unfair measure has been intensified after the arrival of President Donald Trump to the White House, according to the web page of Telesur.

In their interventions, reiterated the importance of the international support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the blockade, which has caused extensive damage in different spheres of the national economy.

Yarisleidis Medina, of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), thanked the demonstrations of support received and discussed the current state of the Cuban- American relations.

In accordance with the criterion of the specialists the intensification of the blockade by the current government of USA is a massive, flagrant and systematic violation of the human rights of all Cubans.
