Beirut, Mar 16.- Lebanese Muna Fadlallah set up a sextuplet delivery record, 3 males and 3 females, in a hospital of this capital, where she is receiving popular and state back up to keep them alive, local media reported today.
Fadlallah, a PhD student, is a 34 years old and married to Youssef Fadlallah. She already is mother of four children.
The Lebanon Health Minister, Ghassan Hasbani, visited the hospital, met the parents and doctors involved to childbirth and promised to cover the additional expenses of the newborns and mother up to their hospital discharge.
It is one of the few successful cases all over the world and the first in Lebanon, the obstetrician at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center Nadim al-Hajal stated.
What is amassing is that Muna did not look for neither in vitro fertilization nor artificial insemination, everything was natural, doctor Al-Hajal declared.
He added to carry the pregnancy to term placed the mother at a great risk.
The pregnancy passed in dangerous circumstances due to three previous deliveries by cesarean of her second,third and fourth children, the obstetrician observed. (Prensa Latina)
