Havana, Jun 12.- The presence of a flow of moist air associated with the permanence of a trough extended on the south-east of the Gulf of Mexico remain raised the likelihood of rain throughout the Cuban archipelago in the next five days, which could be further increased in western and central regions.
How informed the newspaper Granma Dr. Miriam Therese Llanes, chief of the Center of forecasts of the Institute of Meteorology, precipitation could become strong and intense in some localities.
Taking into account the high saturation of soils prevalent in much of the country, and the meteorological conditions particular to each territory, it is recommended to give special attention to the evolution of weather conditions during the rest of the week and that each of the sectors of the economy and the population take corresponding measures.
According to the specialist, some models insist on the development of a zone of time disturbed from today on the Gulf of the mosquitoes, in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. In the last bullfights yesterday these showed a tendency of the system to move in a path farthest from Cuba, in the vicinity of the Yucatan Peninsula.
To be fulfilled, as suggested by the models, the possibilities of intensification would be limited and could only be better organized to go out into the Gulf of Mexico. (Granma) (Photo: File)
