Camagüey, Sep 7. -The Ballet of Camagüey (BC) will perform shortly several presentations in the García Lorca hall of the Great Theatre of Havana Alicia Alonso, with the staging of a concert program.
The dates chosen for the show are September 21st, 22nd and 23rd.The show is composed of the works Ad liber, Aguffa, Aleatorio, Aguas primaverales, y Los amantes y la muerte from the choreographers Lila Martínez, Víctor Cuellar, Tania Vergara, Assafev Messerer and Osvaldo Beiro, respectively.
According to information provided to the press by María de los Ángeles Gómez, the public relations officer of the company, the staging will be under the general artistic direction of the maître Regina Balaguer, who has led the group for more than two decades.
A group of young dancers, the first figures of the institution currently, will defend each work’s characters, said María de los Ángeles.
The protagonists include Rosa María Armengol and Yanni Garcia, devoted ballet dancers and others such as Elizabeth Pajés, Sarah de Miranda and Arian Saladrigas, who will exalt the Camagüey Academy of Ballet’s name, the first academy created after the triumph of the Cuban revolution.
The BC was founded in 1967 by Vicentina de la Torre, and over the years it has trained many generations of Cuban dancers, who have shone with their performance both in national and foreigner venues. (ACN) (Foto: Archivo)
