Pyongyang, Sep, 8. -The first Cuban Deputy President, Salvador Valdés Mesa, arrived today here in official visit and as special guest to the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (RPDC).
The Deputy President of Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the (PTC), Ri Su Yong.
After the welcoming embrace, a state ceremony reserved only for the regal North Korean protocol to great personalities was held in the place of reception, the capital international airport of Sunan.
This is the second visit to the RPDC from the also member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) who came to this capital as special envoy of the first secretary of the Central Committee of PCC, Raúl Castro Ruz on June 28th, 2016.
Then, its main mission was to inform the top executives of PTC the results of the 7th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
On that occasion he was received by the President of PTC, Kim Jong - un, with whom he shared for more than one hour.
The close communication and exchange of partisan and governmental labour between the RPDC and Cuba goes back twelve years after the creation of RPDC, and barely twelve months after the triumph of the Cuban revolution.
Diplomatic relations between Pyongyang and Havana began in 1960 and for the occasion the Commander Ernesto Che Guevara traveled to this capital.
Six years later, the Commander Raúl Castro, current Army General and first Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC traveled too.
Thirty two years ago, the heads of guerrillas of the Sierra Maestra and the Mount Baektu, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Il Sung had a heartfelt embrace becaused they who professed a great friendship.
The current President of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel visited RPDC in 2015, who held friendly talks and exchanges with the President of PTC, Kim Jong - un.
Valdés Mesa came to this country from China where he concluded today a short visit and he was received by the Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Yang Jiechi and the Deputy President of the People's Republic of China, Wang Qishan, among other leaders.
The official delegation of the island that came to the acts of commemoration to the 70th anniversary of the founding of RPDC, to be held in this city on Sunday and next Monday is integrated also by the first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina; the director of Asia and Oceania of the Chancellery, Alberto Blanco; the Cuban Ambassador in Pyongyang, Jesús Aise Sotolongo.
Next Tuesday Valdés Mesa and the delegation that accompanies him will travel to Hanoi to attend the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the first visit to Viet Nam of the historic leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro. (PL) (Photo: Archivo)
