Cuba, renowned with the Tourist Excellence Award as the safest country for the shift at the 38 Edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, last January, reports a high figure of travelers in this segment, attending hundreds of international forums in this MICE destination.
It is meant by MICE destinations (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) to those deemed by global and regional companies for corporate meetings, conventions, incentive or conferences, which form a strong economic global market.
Official statistics indicate that 10% of tourists who travel to Cuba do participate in congresses, conventions and incentives and generate three to six times more incomes than the conventional vacationers. In addition, a large percentage of holiday-makers involved in these calls, then repurchase the territory for leisure purposes.
As MICE destination in Cuba, it is worth to highlight the centers that promote a better quality of life, a wide range of cultural and outdoor activities; as well as attractions network and rooms likely to celebrate meetings of different shapes and sizes.
Aerial and terrestrial connectivity, high-capacity convention centers, hotels’ infrastructure, restaurants and touristic attractions are positioned as great advantages of the nation, the venue among Americas and the Caribbean countries to remain, this way, as leaders in attracting events and support to the meetings’ industry, which brings many economic benefits undoubtedly.
Among the spaces that stand out for such desire are the Convention’s Palace, PABEXPO, Havana Exhibition Pavilion (EXPOCUBA), América square in Varadero, ExpoHolguín and Heredia theatre in Santiago de Cuba; as well as the spacious rooms in traditional and modern hotels of category four and five-star facilities for the development of this type of dating, which hold nearly 300 in each calendar.
