Camagüey education achieves satisfactory evaluation



Camagüey, Oct 11. -After a national inspection by 20 officials of the Ministry of Education (MINED), last september, the province of Camagüey reached a satisfactory evaluation because of the favorable conditions of the beginning of the school year 2018-2019.

As in previous years, the delegation, chaired by Rolando Forneiro, deputy-Minister of MINED, examined specific objectives for the development of an efficient school period, according to the digital site of the local newspaper Adelante.cu.

The completion of the educational coverage, the management structures, and the delivery of the learning and life materials expected were highlighted among the aspects evaluated.

The web notes that in exchange with parents, students and presidents of popular councils of the 10 municipalities visited in three days, the officials confirmed the timely delivery of the logistics with the help of several organisms to ensure the start of the school year in rural schools.

Juan Suárez Méndez, head of the provincial inspection department, explained that the deficit of teachers still remain as the main problem of the province.

However, he pointed out, the evaluation commission recognized the different ways for all students to receive their lessons, while he recommended to monitor not only this aspect but the quality of teaching that is taught.

Súarez Méndez reported that the inspectors from MINED praised the work of the sector in the maintenance and repair of schools, which does not mean that all constructive problems are solved, because they need to improve the restorations of the facilities There's a lot left to do.

Currently more than 1100 teachers are needed in the province of Camagüey, a deficit that is covered with several alternatives to guarantee the teaching to more than 119,000 students who entered this course to the 678 schools of the territory. (ACN) (Photo: Archive)
