Díaz-Canel states that the anti-Cuban show failed

Havana, Oct 17. -Miguel Díaz-Canel, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, described as a failed show the most recent anti- Cuban event convened by the United States at United Nations Headquarters (UN).

The anti-Cuban show orchestrated by the State Department of #EEUU failed, to justify the #Bloqueo contra #Cuba using as private preserve the halls of #NacionesUnidas. #UnblockCuba #NoMásBloqueo, published the president in his profile on the social network Twitter.

Cuba requested the General Secretariat of the UN a rigorous and urgent investigation of the event, considered an unprecedented fact in the diplomatic exercise in this body, for the violation of the sovereignty of one of its member States and the improper use of its facilities, in this case the hall of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

In the face of strong opposition from diplomatic representatives from Cuba and other countries and non-governmental organizations, an attempt was made to launch a campaign called Jailed for what, described as a political farce to justify the blockade of Washington to the Cuban people.

The meeting was convened by the United States Mission to the UN, under the auspices of the State Department and included the participation of Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States, as well as representatives of counterrevolutionary organizations.

The provocation occurs within a few weeks of the international community re-voting, on October 31st, on a resolution that each year the Cuban government presents in which evidences the impact of the blockade, which for more than two decades has had a broad world support.

This Tuesday the Cuban president had published on his Twitter profile that few issues raise so much support in the #Internacional  community as the call to put an end to the #Bloqueo of #EEUU against #Cuba.

#NoMásBloqueo #UnblockCuba #SomosCuba. We will continue to reclaim relentlessly the elimination of this genocidal and aberrant policy, he wrote. (ACN) (Photo: File)
