Tehran, May 12.- President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Gholam Hossein Shafei, expressed his country's will and support for the encouragement of business and investment opportunities in Cuba, diplomatic sources reported Sunday.
During a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Iran, Alexis Bandrich, Shafei expressed the commitment to retake his country's participation in the Havana International Fair this year.
A press release from the Cuban embassy in Iran added that both officials reaffirmed their mutual interest in resisting and overcoming unilateral coercive economic and financial measures imposed by the United States.
They also recognized the need to boost economic-trade relations and keep them at the same level as good bilateral political relations.
The report states that strong economic sanctions do not hinder Iran's and Cuba's development.
Official data indicate that the two countries collaborate in areas such as health, investments, energy, agriculture and sports. (Prensa Latina)
